Sommersby

After the Civil War, Laurel Sommersby adjusts to a life without her wealthy but cruel husband Jack, believed killed in the fight. But just when she is about to remarry, Jack returns. He has changed so much that Laurel begins to wonder if he might be an imposter. Soon she falls in love with him, but then life takes a twist. Many years prior Jack killed a man, and now 'Jack' is on trial for the murder. If he is not Jack, he’ll lose everything, if he is Jack, he’ll be hanged for the murder.

SOMMERSBY is a remake of the French movie Le Retour de Martin Guerre (The Return of Martin Guerre) (1982), which was based on a true story taken from French 16th century court transcripts.
